The Waterproof mattress pads have a white quilted surface on top, an absorbent middle layer, and a blue waterproof bottom layer. Place it on top of the bottom sheet. It absorbs up to one litre of fluid and retains it in the middle absorbent layer. The waterproof bottom layer stops the fluid soaking through to the sheet and mattress underneath. The bottom blue layer is non-slip, which holds the overlay in place. It can be washed in the washing machine using normal washing powder. It can be dried on the line or put in the tumble drier.
